Meet Ms. Preston, Media Specialist

Cheilon Preston

 

Ms. Preston moved to South Carolina from Ohio in 2017, and has worked at St. Helena Elementary since 2018, as the media specialist and science lab instructor. She received a Masters in Library and Information Science from Kent State University in 2006 and, prior to obtaining her teaching certificate, spent 10 years managing the youth services department for a public library system in Ohio.

In her spare time, Ms. Preston enjoys volunteering with the sea turtle program at Hunting Island, as well as camping, fishing, swimming and kayaking and, of course, reading. Her favorite books for kids are "The Day the Crayons Quit" by Drew DeWalt and "The One and Only Ivan" by Katherine Applegate.
